Dec 2020 – Oct 2021

The project, ‘Support to manage plastic waste and kitchen waste at island level to combat marine litter in the Maldives’, funded by the World bank, was carried out in 20 islands across the Maldives by MACCS and its consortium of Paley Maldives and Zero Waste Maldives.

Under this project, the local residents in select islands took part in workshops and awareness programs to improve waste segregation, introduction to kitchen waste composting and backyard gardening, reduction and alternatives to single use plastic as well as community clean up programs to help induce behavioral changes and increase awareness on combating marine litter.
